Magician Max Rendall
Max Rendall is a magician.
Max is a resident magician at The Magicians Cabaret.
Magician Max Rendall born and raised in London amongst a family of talent. A sister who performs regularly in her band around the world, a brother who’s art appears in New York galleries. Not to forget his father, a renowned conservationist who travels the world to talk about his his story of raising a lion cub, called Christian, to maturity in London during the 60’s before successfully releasing it to the wild in Africa.
Having received his education at the prestigious Radley College in England, Max finished with high distinctions which allowed him to study at Sydney University. It was there Max began studying the arts specialising in Philosophy. When Max stumbled across a video of a simple magic trick that even after repeated viewings, the secret continued to elude him, so he searched for the solution. Upon finding what he was looking for, Max was able to teach himself how to present the trick and he performed it to a few friends. Their stunned applause led him to become a recluse for months so as to study his new vocation in secret till it was perfected and ready for a proper unveiling. A magician was born.
Max’s first gig was as a roving magician at a restaurants Sydney, earning Max the right to begin using a magician’s name, The Chelsea Joker. Max was soon being booked for functions across Sydney. At just such an event, Max met choreographer James Taylor, who introduced him to renowned producer of Australia’s only magic venue The Magicians Cabaret, James Karp.
When the time came to audition for the resident cabaret dinner show at the Magician’s Cabaret, Max was up against dozens of Australia’s elite magicians and landed himself a year long contract as a principle character called the Trickster. With his mentors’ instruction, Max was taught the art of stage magic and choreography.
Having proved himself by performing a trick three times in front of his peers and the secret remaining undetected, Max earned himself a place in the exclusive “Pura Mente Et Corpore Magum” group and was accepted as a master magician at Australia’s Magic Academy, which will also saw him voted best new talent, a fantastic end to a successful 2012.
2013 Max was cast in the magician’s cabaret’s newest production, La Fortuna, once again appearing as a principle role, this time the Gambler. So impressed with Max’s stage presence, James Karp began co-producing with Max his own magic parlour show, An Intimate evening of magic with Max Rendall, which has so far sold out twelve shows and will see his act back on stage in October.
