Magician Marcus Luc
Magician Marcus Luc is a Sydney-born magician with parents of Italian heritage. Marcus fell in love with the art of magic at a very young age after seeing David Blaine perform in his television special David Blaine: Street Magic. Marcus would mimic Blaine’s sleights, and would take ordinary objects such as a deck of cards and make all but a chosen card vanish.
In 2013 Marcus was accepted into The Magic Academy and studied the exclusive full-time Diploma in Magic course, offered to only a few. Marcus received distinction for his unique card routines. His “Move A Card” routine, which requires extraordinary memory skills as well as his card mechanic techniques won him the Platinum Wand award for excellence in card manipulation, quickly earning him an enviable reputation in the Australian magic industry. Amongst his peers he is noted for his card sleights – this is where Marcus demonstrates the true meaning of the expression, “The hand is quicker than the eye.”
2014 saw Marcus cast in The Magicians Cabaret theatre restaurant venue in Sydney, as a resident roving magician and he received the Top Hat award for achieving 100 performances. Furthermore he has made numerous guest appearances in the resident cabaret dinner show La Fortuna: A Magician’s Tale as The Gambler.
Magician Marcus Luc’s specialty is with close up magic/roving magic, featuring routines such as “The Ambitious Card”, “Card Shark” and his very own invention “Move A Card”. He is also a renowned expert in sleight of hand magic. Marcus’ skill in magic earned him a place in the exclusive underground magic club – The Magicians Guild, having proved himself by performing a magic effect three times in front of his peers and the secret remaining undetected.
His list of clients is also impressive, performing numerous trade shows and corporate events for McDonalds, Red Balloon, Australian Museum, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Aon Finance, Ticketek, IBM, Qantas, ANZ Bank and Westpac to name but a few. Marcus has also performed on Channel Seven’s Disney and at the French World Festival.
2016 is an exciting year for Sydney Magician Marcus Luc. With his contract extended at The Magicians Cabaret, he will also feature in The Magicians Cabaret award winning resident cabaret dinner show La Fortuna as a regular cast member, and his magic parlour show “Tales of Trickery”, to be produced and directed by acclaimed cabaret producer James Karp, will make its debut.
