Prinnie Stevens
Prinnie Stevens is a singer, dancer, songwriter and presenter
Prinnie burst on to the scene at 17, performing in the Australian premiere of Rent:The Muscial. From there she was in constant demand, performing in musical theatre such as leader Of The Pack and Footloose. It was her Helpmann nominated performance in Oh, What A Night! that took her to the next level – she was asked to move to New York and front an all-girl group for Sony Music. Whilst in New York, Prinnie worked with Dallas Austin, Lashawn Daniels and the legendary Rodney Jerkins. She performed alongside Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Mary J Blige and John Legend.
2012 Prinnie returned to Australia and toured with Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy. Prinnie chose to step out and try her own thing. She auditioned for the TV program, The Voice. She could not have imagined the success of the show nor the opportunities that would arise having made the top 4 in Team Joel.
Since The Voice, she teamed up with Mahalia Barnes to release an album of soulful duets. Prinnie + Mahalia: Come Together debuted at Number 1 on the R&B/Soul charts through Universal Music. Prinnie released her collection of nail lacquers – the result of her collaboration with internationally acclaimed Australian brand Hello Darling and featured in Celebrity Apprentice where she was able to represent MMAD a charity that assists young Australians to fight the battle of life through the inspiration of music and the use on mentorship.
In 2013, Prinnie was signed to Universal Music as a Solo Artist and released single “Don’t wake me up”. The song went to number one. Prinnie hit the road touring across Australia this time with her own show. She was personally asked by Baz Lurhman to sing at the opening of The Great Gatsby to rave reviews.
Prinnie is continuing her success as CoHost for 2014 The Voice Kids and looking to releasing more music later on this year.
